"Reducing the Mystic" at Global Scientific Guild

Originating from a server in India, today's conference spam seeks speakers for the "2nd Global Webinar On Forensic Science." Coming hot on the heels of the first "Global Webinar" in March 2021, the second installment is scheduled for July 2021.

The "focus," if it can be called that, of the first effort was “Exploring the new heights of Excellence in Forensic Science Research and Development.” The new "focus" is "Insights and Innovations in Forensic Science: Progressing to the Future." The conference website is devoid of speakers and information on the sessions, but there are placeholders for plenary, keynote, and even invited speakers.

The "Conference Chairperson" is "Prof. Anna Barbaro, Association of Women Forensic Experts, Italy." The "view biography" link by her name produces an empty drop-down display. The "Conference Co-Chairman" is "Dr. Ruwan Uduwerage-Perera, University of East London, United Kingdom." The university's website identifies him as a senior lecturer with no doctoral degree. He is a public figure, having been the first General Secretary of the National Black Police Association. A 2015 newspaper headline reads "Ruwan Uduwerage-Perera: Lib Dem ethnic minority group chairman re-instated after being controversially ejected last month." The drop-down bio for him speaks of his passion to "reducing the mystic about criminology and developing practitioner academics within the workplace."

At the top of the list of "Organizing Committee Members" in the email is "Dr. Anthony Schembri, University of South Florida, United States." No such person is on the faculty of USF (according to the online directory for the university), but the Anthony Schembri pictured on the conference website has had a distinguished career in law enforcement. Apparently, the "Dr." is an honorary degree from the Global Scientific Guild.

The group behind the events is difficult to locate. GoDaddy.com registered the domain name, globalscientificguild.com, in July, 2019, listing the registrant organization as Global Scientific Guild, Karnataka, India. The guild is not even creative or transparent enough to invent a last name and title for the signature line of its spam, leaving us with "Sandy B" as the person "awaiting your swift and favorable reply." Still, if you are lonely, you could give Sandy (or whoever it is) a call at +91 9491 456 452, where "We Feel Happy to Talk." Sandy must be extremely knowledgeable, as his or her title is "Forensic Science."

  1. Auragen group is a recent spammer and predatory company started in Hyderabad. If you are free call at +91 9989 661 232., they are ready to initiate their scam over phone itself, by the name called Mr. Sai Kiran Olipilli, who is just a graduate and spamming the researchers.

    1. since recently I've gotten E-Mail-invitation for nanotechnology event, but actually I am an anthropologist and they referred my paper which is 12 years back. So I treated it as spam and I infer this must be a mass mailing to people whom they have not bothered to assess, there is nothing in the website which looks like predatory website absolutely.
Just to be clear: Auragen Group is not a serious organization, it certainly belong to the "predatory" category. Aurgaengroupscam Predatotry auragen group

    2. Recently i have attended Auragen Nanotechnology Webinar, the worst virtual meeting that i attend in my life time., with very few people and organizers are unable to show their faces during the virtual meeting if they are genuine. i was not aware of this scam and paid 249 USD for this, soon i will give a complaint in consumer protection office to receive back my amount.

Later the meeting i have seen many news in the internet about this fake organization Auragen, dont attend these type of fake events, Auragen group is completely bogus and predatory organization.

  2. Magnus Group is a Profit Organization based in Hyderabad, India. Ranjith Kumar is managing Director of Magnus Group. you can find its location in google (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Magnus+Group/@17.427922,78.450011,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x3352021be53e22d6?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwigw9D72e7lAhURknAKHcUQDr4Q_BIwE3oECBAQCA).

Its completely a fake Organisation sending invitations with fake names. You will never see the person who contacted you in email at onsite, you will find only the following persons at every conference Jyothi, Sravya, Navya, Hari Prasad, Laxmi, Alekya.

  3. I also received information from Global Scientific Guild via LinkedIn as an invite. It looked shady because it was super vague. I asked them to email me the information.
The email format and typos told me all I need to know.
This was an invite to present for their 3rd Global Conference, coming from an email as generic as 'publichealth@gsciguild.info'. The message reads,
"Thanks for taking out the time from your day and replying to us. The 3rd Global webinar on public health is a 3-day live event organized by the global scientific guild.

Experts in the fields of public health and its branches are the most audience, students and professors.

Speakers will get 25-30 minutes of time to deliver their presentation and they will receive a certificate for their participation.

You can deliver any of the topics related to public health, many topics are listed on our official website.

You can also deliver about your research work or about your published papers.

Share your recent biography, photo and submit your abstract about the talk you going to deliver. For more information visit our website here: https://www.globalscientificguild.com/public-health/

Feel free to ask for any further assistance.

    Best regards,

    B. Shiva Prasad

    Program Manager"

I don’t have any fear to write this comment, being an employee there in Mscholar private limited, it’s such a worst company where they can index the conferences in 3rd party websites and collect the data of scientists and spamming them and sucking them for conference registration. Nobody knows the subject and they are worst at the subject knowledge and they organize conferences by spamming researchers, wow such a predatory conferences they are organizing and I appreciate them for recruiting the employees and spamming researchers and they never pay salaries in time, its sure an Indian Hyderabad company and don’t believe the M scholars Private Limited, please remember these things and never attend the predatory mscholarconferences.
