Pangea Global Events is dedicated to a qualitative collective knowledge sharing

Pangea Global Events' "Scientific PAGES is dedicated to provide a global level platform for the Scholars, Students, Researchers and Business Entities to make them experience a qualitative collective knowledge sharing".  Its "organizing committee members and experts ... make our events more focus and fascinate." Its "vast subscribed ... database will "add more applauds". PAGES "strongly believe that the scientific community is the true driving force of civilization" and worries that "the purpose of conferences is not reaching out Developing & 3rd World Countries".

Yet, PAGES spammed me for a conference in Paris on "Latest and Future Innovations of Toxicology in the awake of Pandemic". The website for this Global Conference on Toxicology (GCT- 2021) lists a "Scientific Board" with one US member -- "Dr. Dariush Ilghari, The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, USA". No such name appears on the faculty and staff directory of this college. The conference's biography for Dr. Ilghari describes a more limited connection. He is a graduate of the college and "an MTM pharmacist, working for SinfoniaRx". Unlike Dr. Ilghari, I have no medically related training (and only one co-authored article, unrelated to toxicology, to my credit in a medical journal). Those facts did not diminish PAGES' "immense pleasure and honor to invite [me] as an Organizing Committee Member".

  1. I received something similar. The paper they reference, which I did write, is 8+ years old and that tipped me off this might be a scam.

    Dear Dr.,

We recently expanded the Nutrition & Food Science session of our general assembly this year and I wanted to talk with you about your work in this area. Your paper "Nutrition in Complementary and Alternative Medicine" was quite interesting to me.

The assembly is August 20-21 in Berlin. I'm hoping you will consider joining the session; perhaps as a speaker.

    May we discuss this more?

    Best Regards,

    M. Osman, M.D.

    1. I received a similar email with just the first part of the publication title, presumably because the title was too long. Heh. :-)

  2. They must have seen your post, they corrected the "awake", but not the rest. Funnily, there are several other of their conferences, all with the exact same website, that have a similar phrase:
Their "Biomedical Engineering and Systems" conferences has the theme "Reshaping Technology Priorities in the Wake of Pandemic", and "Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science" has the theme "Path for Quality life: Exploring the new Horizons in the wake of Pandemic".

I received an invitation for the "Global Conference on Physics" with the theme: "Exploring the Innovations and Modern Break Troughs in the field of Physics".

Interestingly, PAGES list an address in Delaware that is the same address as many other (letterbox?) companies. Including "Harvard Business Services, Inc", a company that offers to create a corporation or LLC for $150 and acts as a registered agent for $50/year. This was apparently also the address of a company called "European Chess Union LLC", with Harvard Business Services as their registered agent, which was involved in a scandal involving money laundering, forged bank statements, and embezzling money from national chess unions by pretending to be the real European Chess Union. The address even shows up in the Paradise Papers and the Panama Papers.

  3. 'Pangea Global Events', or PagesConferences, turns out to be one Pavan Kumar Jalluri, of Hyderabad.

I confess, I was surprised, as the website design for the Pages scamferences is so generic and so similar to the design of 'ScientificFederation' / TheScientistt / AlbedoMeetings / Outlook International, that I assumed it to be just another of those grifters' aliases.

  5. Just today recieved invitation, also as a "highly honored guest speaker Dr. Name" in Lasers and photonics or something like that. All the previous commentators experiences are relatable. Barcelona conference was in junk, but Edinburg was in my main inbox!!! Anyhow, I blocked all of them. Funniest is I am not a Doctor or phD :D

    1. Same for me! I am a PhD student in optics but I was addressed as "Dr." in an email inviting me to their "Conference and Expo on Lasers, Optics & Photonics" in Edinburgh. I got emails for it last year in my junk inbox and was wondering if it was really even a real event or just a total fake scam. But then this year I looked on the website and they have real photos from last year's event, it was in some tiny dingy room with maybe 15 people total.
