The only US member of the very large conference committee is Qiang Cheng, an Associate Professor in Computer Science (Division of Biomedical Informatics) at the University of Kentucky. Listed as a sponsor is Atlantis Press, which publishes conference proceedings galore online.

Bioscope Group

Conferences and courses from Bioscope could be the product of enterprising faculty in Lisbon. Their motto is "at the forefront of science," and they sell books of abstracts (for 200 Euros) from past conferences. They also publish a Journal of Integrated OMICS (JIOMICS), which consists largely of "selected abstracts" from their conferences on such subjects as "Urine OMICS." The "editorial team" on the website is a blank page.

UPDATE (17 Sept. 2019): The website of the journal now lists two editors at www.jiomics.com/index.php/jio/about/editorialTeam. In response to an email from the first editor, Jose Luis Capelo Martinez, I have made changes to the original posting. The most significant is the removal of a statement on the absence of any abstracts on forensic science in the "1st International Caparica Conference On Translational Forensics (FORENSICS 2017), Vol 7, No 1 (2017), Jun 2017 ISSN 2182-0287." Asia in Dubai: The Asian Conference on Science, Technology & Medicine

The Asian Conference on Science, Technology & Medicine (ACSTM) is an annual production of the United Arab Emirates' Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE). On Facebook, ACSE presents itself as "the voice of Asia." The officers and directors of the organization are from Egypt, India, UAE, Croatia, UAE, UK, USA, and Bangladesh. Relevant domains are registered to the Instra Corporation Pty Ltd in Dubai. The website's About Us page explains that "[t]he ACSE is the first and the foremost organization in Asia, that aims to provide a unified and active platform for Asian editors and scholars to understand about their editorial problems, explore solutions and devotedly take up the future challenges to enhance the quality of Asian Scientific and Scholarly publications."

The "photographic memories" page of the ACSTM website indicates that the now-Asian conference used to be the "World Conference on Science, Technology & Medicine." It also mentions that Medwin Publications is involved. (A Medwin journal contacted me as one of the "eminent scientists, who have significant involvement in the advancement of research" in vaccines; in response to my offer of "a paper reporting that I still got some colds after being vaccinated against the flu," Medwin urged me to submit the valuable manuscript.)

Meetings International, where "measurable researchers head out"

The About Us page (5/19/18) for Meetings International promises to teach you "to be even more audacious and bold than you are now and free to grow your mind, grow your business, and grow your bottom-line." The domain Meetingsint.com also is now hidden by a proxy registrant, but in 2017, it was registered to Srinubabu Gedela, Meetings International Pte Ltd, 28 Bukit Pasoh Road, , Yee Lan Court, Singapore. In orher words, it is yet another way to suck people into paying for Omics events. It seems to have taken over the marketing of the International Conference on Forensic Research & Technology from the Omics front, Conference Series.

Just to see who might answer (on 7/11/18), I called the first two numbers on the spam from Forensic Research Conference. The "main theme of the conference is: 'Every Contact Leaves a Trace,'" but these traces produced no contacts. The first number was not intelligible to Google Voice. The second forwarded the call to a different number with no one present and a mailbox that was not working.

The hyperlink in the spam goes to a website for a later conference in Japan rather than the one advertised in Australia. But never fear, the site discusses the Australian market for forensic-science products. The "Scientific Program" tab produces the unedifying response "No pdf." The description of the "Scientific Sessions" (none seem to be scheduled yet) is painful:

Forensic science is that provision for science to criminal and common laws, basically on the criminal side throughout criminal investigation, likewise legislated toward those lawful norms about permissible proof and criminal technique. Measurable researchers collect, preserve, furthermore investigate experimental proof throughout that course about an examination. The next day's spam advertised the conference in Japan.
